I grew up in Kibbutz Yiftach, a small community located on the border with Lebanon.

Kibbutzim were unique form of living, based on Karl Marx’s ideas. In its base was equality; Each member contributes as much as he can and takes just as much as he needs.

Many of the Kibbutzim were established after the 1948 war, along the new borders of the Israeli State.

Times changed and Kibbutzim all over Israel went through dramatic changes and were largely privatized.

Sympathy is mixed with sadness in the place that once represented a utopian alternative.
